Activism at CARA
CARA identifies folks who work to create a world of liberation and social justice as activists. Activists from all communities are encouraged to organize programs, groups, or events to support survivors and subvert rape culture.
Below is a list of possible activist opportunities: This list is NOT exhaustive - activists have space at CARA to create new strategies to mobilize communities.
| |
Organize support/discussion/book groups for survivors of sexual and domestic violence. |
| |
Create an art or writing group that challenges rape culture. |
| |
Organize educational forums to build community consciousness about rape, abuse, and oppression. |
| |
Build coalitions with other social justice organizations and movements. |
| |
Join CARA's Board of Directors. See our Board of Directors page in About Us for more information. |
| |
Donate much-needed funds to CARA. |
| |
Create a network of resources for a community or for a group of family and friends. |
| |
Participate in CARA's educational and political campaigns. |
| |
If these ideas sound intriguing or you'd like to organize with CARA in other ways, please contact us at info@cara-seattle.org or give us a call at (206) 322-4856 for more information.
