Avocado Smoothie Recipe

This creamy avocado smoothie is packed with delicious ingredients that are great for your health, try it!



  • 1 avocado
  • 1 frozen ripe banana, sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 8 oz plain full fat yogurt or milk kefir
  • Juice of 1 lime or lemon
  • 1 tsp spirulina or 1 handful of spinach/kale
  • A few drops of stevia or a tsp of preferred sweetener (optional)


  1. Free the sliced and peeled ripe banana.
  2. Into the blender, add all the ingredients except for the sweetener. And blend until full smooth and creamy.
  3. You may add extra milk depending on the size of the avocado and the banana.
  4. Pour into glasses and serve.


Walnut Yogurt-Kefir Parfait

This parfait recipe is healthy, easy to follow and it’s ideal for delicious grab and go breakfast. walnut parfait


  • 2 cups nonfat yogurt or milk kefir
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup fresh fruit (berries, kiwi, oranges)
  • 1/2 cup chopped, toasted walnuts


  1. Divide between two glasses the yogurt or milk kefir, fruit, and walnuts. Then pour each glass with 1/2 tablespoon honey.


Curried Chicken Salad

Turn your leftover chicken into fresh and delicious salads  with grapes that will surely become a favorite.


  • Lettuce
  • 2 cups chopped leftover chicken
  • 1 cup plain fat-free yogurt or milk kefir
  • 1/2 cup grapes, halved, or 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 1/4 cup walnuts (optional)


  1. Mix into a bowl yogurt with grapes, curry powder, walnut (optional)and a dash of salt.
  2. Chop the lettuce and place it to each 4 bowls. Combine the chicken with the yogurt mixture, and pour on top of the beds of lettuce.
  3. Chill or serve immediately.


Kefir Pancakes

For those who want’s a healthy food out there. Try making this fluffy pancakes made with kefir!

Kefir Pancakes with Blue Berry Syrup


  • 1 teaspoon of soda
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk kefir
  • 1 3/4 cup of flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder


  1. Mix together first the dry ingredients.
  2. Blend or stir the eggs with the kefir until it is moistened.
  3. Cook it on a griddle at and serve.

Don’t just eat your kefir pancake with no attraction! You may want to try adding some yummy syrup such as corn, strawberry or even chocolate! My all time favorite is to add really blueberry in it! Enjoy!


Fruity Smoothie

For those moms who are busy and don’t have much time in making lunches for their kids. This recipe is great for you, just whizz the blender and sip.

Fruity SmoothieIngredients

  1. 1 tsp honey
  2. 6 ice cubes
  3. 1 cup low-fat milk
  4. 1 tbsp wheat germ
  5. 1 cup fruit, frozen or fresh
  6. 1/2 cup natural yoghurt or kefir


  1. In a blender, place all ingredients
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour it into glass and serve!

For people who prefer it cold just add some ice cube in the blender, but remember to add more honey so the flavor will come out more! Enjoy drinking your delicious healthy drink!

Kefir Frozen Bars

This yummy frosty treat are bursting with the taste of your favorite fruits and kefir.

Kefir Frozen BarsIngredients

  • 3-4 strawberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 lrg banana
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1/2 cup Lifeway kefir any flavor or you can substitute yoghurt


  1. In blender, place all the fruits and pour kefir on top.
  2. Blend it until smooth.
  3. Then add protein powder then blend it again for about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Pour into the Popsicle molds and freeze at least 4 hours.

This fruit popsicle is one of my recommendation for kids, especially in summer times! People really are so busy that they already forgetting to have proper diet in there daily eating habits so adding up some fruits for dessert is one awesome way to achieve balance diet.

Kefir is just a fermented dairy milk drink, that consist of incubated milk that is mixed with the culture bacteria called “kefiran”. It was founded in the mountains called Caucasus. Scientist has already done a proven research about the benefits of intake kefir.

The bacteria in the kefir is known as probiotics bacteria, this bacteria is famous for giving a boost for people who has problem in the digestive systems like constipation and diarrhea. It also help people to have a healthy method in losing weight without any side effect!

How is kefir made

  • Kefir was created from combining the 2 items milk and kefir grains then we just need to ferment it to became kefir.
  • Kefir grain was created from the mixture of a bacteria and a yeast.
  • There are main kind of mixture of bacteria that was stains in the kefir grains here are some of the example ~ acetobacter, lactobacillus, streptococcus and etc.
  • A simple method to ferment the yeast is to add sugar in the milk so it can produce a carbon dioxide and also to be about to negligible the amount of the alcohol.
  • On the other side using the milk sugar lactose we are able to ferments the bacteria.
  • I found out that some commercially kefir do have vitamin D, vitamin A and natural dietary fiber, but I don’t know if it’s natural or added only.

Difference Between Kefir And Yogurt

  • Kefir is much better compared to a traditional yogurt, the main reason for this is the difference level in probiotic concentration of it in a same amount of serving
  • A normal traditional yogurt can give us about 4-5 kinds of probiotic but a normal kefir give more than 10 different kind of good bacteria.
  • Kefir can be used for baking, drips and etc, it has the same ability as in milk. While Yogurt is very limited and we can’t use yogurt to replace milk.
  • And people who are lactose intolerant can drink kefir.

Where to buy

Opinion about the grains

  • Both are wonderful product but I prefer the milk kefir grains, simply because I can use it as a replacement for milk. For water kefir grains you need to add brown sugar, that extra calories for me so I dont like it!

Where can I Use kefir

As I mention kefir has many usage, for me the best use of kefir is to replace milk. I don’t think it’s the right term, it’s more like evolving the milk. There are also many blogs that teach many kinds of recipe that uses kefir, I did try them and it’s pretty good here are some of my list.
